Incoming Kindergarten through Third Graders
Dear Parents of students from PreK through Third Grade:
Above are two links to activity boards for our elementary students. These are suggestions for literacy activities during the time away from school. Practicing all the skills that were learned during the year will ensure that the hard work will not be lost, and that students will continue to gain or maintain their literacy skills.
Children from the PreK program can color a square as an activity is completed. These activities are hopefully fun and will encourage literacy activities over the summer. Children can fill this sheet out with a parent, sibling, friend, babysitter or even alone. If children want to rate their book they can color green for great, yellow for o.k., and red for yucky (not a requirement just a suggestion!).
Families are encouraged to complete 20 activities during the summer. Activity boards will be brought back to school in August and given to the child’s teacher. Soon after school starts, we will have a celebration to acknowledge the hard work that was done during the summer. Please help your child with the tasks and make it a fun way to spend some time sharing books, stories, and writing this summer.
